What does the
scan
cover.
Your scan assesses major structures across the:

Brain

Spine

Chest

Abdomen

Pelvis
Full-body MRI does not assess every organ or condition equally well and does not
replace NHS breast, bowel, cervical or other established screening programmes.
Why is full-body
MRI
debated?
The concerns are real. A full-body MRI is a significant investment. It can reveal harmless abnormalities that need clarification. And no scan can rule out every disease.
But scans can also uncover findings that warrant medical attention - even in people who feel well.

handles
that uncertainty
01
Specialist review

02
A GP conversation - not just a report
A GP explains your results and what, if anything, should happen next.
03
Triage based on clinical importance
Not every finding requires further investigation. Recommendations are based on the nature and urgency of the finding.
A full-body MRI is not right for everyone. Our role is to give you a broad assessment, explain its limitations and help you understand the result.

Questions
worth
asking
Can a full-body MRI detect cancer?
A full-body MRI can identify some abnormalities that may represent cancer, but it cannot detect every cancer or confirm that every abnormality is malignant. It should not be treated as a way to rule out cancer.
What happens if something is found?
A GP talks you through the result and any recommended next step. Depending on the finding, that may mean speaking with your usual GP, arranging a targeted test, consulting a specialist or monitoring it over time.
Can I have an MRI with an implant?
It depends on the implant or device. Complete the safety questionnaire accurately so the clinical team can assess whether MRI is suitable.
What exactly does the scan cover?
The protocol assesses major structures across the brain, spine, chest, abdomen and pelvis.
What if I am claustrophobic?
Tell us before booking. Depending on the clinic, additional support or a wider-bore scanner may be available and should be arranged in advance.
Can I change my appointment?
Yes - our support team can help you change your appointment.
